Part of me wants to assume the best in people and not think that someone would lie about something like this, a pastor no less, but there were parts that didn't mend well with me, similar to the ones that have been mentioned. Same thing with the book by the neurosurgeon who claimed that he had proof of heaven. I read a review of both of them recently on here that was pretty good http://masscasualties.com/2013/09/the-afterlife-heaven-is-for-real-proof-of-heaven-a-semi-personal-story/

The question that stops me though is: when do we believe? Add that to the never ending inserts, obviously intended to sell the proclaimed validity of the story, that the he, the boys father, is a "Pastor" and there is no way anyone (with an objective outlook) can actually believe this book is fact.

Ironically, just about every story described as "fact" in this tale resemble either pictures you see in just about every children's bible book or astoundingly backs up other accounts from "pastor" families from bigger churches that he seemingly. so desires their acceptance and approval.

I think the final straw for me was the "Markers" he claimed his son described as being a part of Jesus "look". Markers in his palms and feet, just as it looks like in all kids bible and story book pictures. This alone not only solidifies the story as non fiction but really makes you wonder if the "pastor" dad actually believes the nails used to hang Jesus to the cross were driven thru the palms.... There is no debate in this matter. Nails had to be driven thru the wrists and forearms in order to not only support the weight but to stop people from pulling the hands thru the nail and freeing themselves.

I could keep going on but don't need to. As with anything, you either see it or you don't. My problem isn't with anyone using this or any other thing they may need as a way to strengthen or reaffirm their faith. My problem is that that this book is being pushed as "Real". I'm sure its done so with nothing but the best intentions. Just a small town "Pastor" doing whatever he can to bring more people to the Lord. If he happens to pad his and several others pockets along the way... That's his prerogative.

Personally I don't agree with this method of recruiting new Prayer Warriors. I think in the long run that people are smarter than he is giving them credit for and just like any other sales pitch, "as soon as you lie...... you die"

Praise the Lord!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8723330.post-59830363067382596212014-06-10T09:52:52.394+09:302014-06-10T09:52:52.394+09:30I guess I don’t understand Lucy’s put down when in...I guess I don’t understand Lucy’s put down when in fact it can be correct. One of the only problems I have ...My name is Aaron. One of the only problems I have seen with the story of this book is when the father tell the woman, "Does God love my son more than yours?" Presuming to fully answer the question with that question. The truth of the matter is no he doesn't but this isn't the full truthful answer.

God sent his son to die on the cross because he loved the world. But You must believe in him and accept him into your heart before you can be saved and have eternal life.

It is sad to say that if her son wasn't saved that he went to hell, but it says in the bible clearly that you have to proclaim Jesus as Lord before you shall have eternal Life. John 3:16-18

And as far as this kids story. SO what? So this kid reveals more. If it is made up then we will know one day, however, do you think there is a reason Jesus loved the children...? Have any idea why the revelation of children is most of the time greater than that of adults?

I have seen things that by your account of beliefs today you would say is utter nonsense. But the fact is if you read the account of Jesus things that cannot be described by what is physically understood took place. So is Jesus a Liar? Is the Bible full of wishful thinking and religious idiocy?

Who cares if his story is fabricated. In the grand scheme of life it doesn't matter. The fact that you gripe over something so simple shows your heart. You don't care about the lives that could be changed by an account of a God touched life.

Are you so jealous that you would pick apart that which you don't understand?

Look to the Word of God. If you have a qualm against a fellow man then seek justice in Christ before you give way to your words which are in power. whether empowered by Jesus or satan.

Did you first seek his kingdom and his righteousness before you spoke your mind?

My only question to you is this, if this account is true and Jesus has spoken to this little boy knowing there would be those whom would believe and those who would be the pharisees of this age why then would you give so much of your time and effort to destroying the reputation of something that is of no real importance. Jesus said go into all the world and preach the gospel.

And Jesus has given us the gifts of the spirit as well as the ability to speak and tongues and he said greater things shall you do than me.

So how then can you demise that if it isn't believable in everything you have seen and heard it cannot be true?

Fear not for I am with you said the Lord. Be not afraid of what is unknown to you but trust in him with all your heart, all your mind, and all your strength.

You cannot believe everything you hear nor can you believe what you see. You could be right or wrong but the truth is that you need to open yourself to God in all the ways you are afraid to do. And when you do that there will be things beyond your mental man like reasoning that will then become the truth this little boy shows.

He does not have the blockage of the world at this age. He doesn't know the evil of this world nor does he relish in the temptation of things. This little boy had no truth of his own design but only of the Father God.

He had no malicious intent. He was but a young child whom his parents had raised within the boundaries of the word of God. God knows his name and chose him for a life that is beyond your reasoning of understanding. The ways of God are not foreign, but are written within the confines of the pages of the Bible. How then after reading the Bible in its full purpose can you deny that God values traditional ways as well as evangelical ways.

Stop getting caught up in the religious ways of tradition and focus on Jesus and what he deems is truth not what you deem is truth. This is truly "childlike faith" which you seemingly can't speak of. Why not treat as such, and while we're at it why not also consider it as special revelation bordering on private revelation to this 4 year old kid. Also, how do you know that God cannot bring this child to heaven, give him a child-like perspective on heaven and return him to reveal to his parents answers that could never have been revealed in any other way. Surely we would want to have a cautious optimism, but come on, give God some room to work in this boy's life. and while you're at it, leave your theology behind. By the way, childlike faith is Biblical.

JonBelieverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16469743313521440470noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8723330.post-36753881528964188252014-04-27T02:20:30.747+09:302014-04-27T02:20:30.747+09:30I have always been fascinated by NDE's as desc...I have always been fascinated by NDE's as described in other books (Raymond Moody, George Ritchie...), which frankly, are far more credible than this story. The Lord's taught me that it's perfectly okay if we don't know as the secret things belong to the Lord but the things revealed belong to our children as his helpful to follow his law (Deut 29:29). If there's a clear violation of scripture than I'm interested to read that, but not just because it violates a man's opinion of his own subjective and limited expectations. After all, the kingdom of heaven is hidden from the wise and learned and is revealed to little children (Mat 11:25).

When Jesus ascended to heaven he took the righteous souls in Hades and brought them to heaven with them (Ephesians 4:8), so the opinion that nobody's in heaven doesn't hold up. If Colton's accurately describing things about heaven then that's to be considered.

I'm not doing a critique here myself as but am inviting anybody who sees any clear violation of scriptures to respond as there are many false visions that the enemy will use to take us away from Jesus, his Word, the cross, the blood and all things necessary for salvation.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
